recently i came accross a hi power represented to be a belgium produced firearm sold under
contract to israel for use by police.

It has the ribbed slide, and is forged. Assume this is a markII.

Also has the painted finish. Importer was NHC Sac Ca. has spur hammer and marked on left slide fabrique nationale herstal belgique over browning patent depose.

Has small safety, and slide hold open. Belgium marked magazine.

Can someboy fill me in on the history of these firearms, and how to verify...

The markings on the slide and presence of the lanyard ring show that is was a contract piece and you are correct about the rib- that shows it is a Mark II. I
am not aware of any definitive info on who received what pistols. This pistol is similar to other pistols I have seen described as Israeli contract, but unless
the importer is willing to say where they came from, it only a guess. I believe others have tried to contact FNH, but I don't believe the company has been
any help.

Sounds like a great pistol. If you've never owned a HP before, you are in for a treat!

Can someboy fill me in on the history of these firearms, and how to verify it's use in israel. Originally the owner had an israeli canvas web holster for
it. might add also serial number marked on exposed barrel in chamber to frame. Balkalite grips and lanyard ring on left bottom of grip. Three dot sights
