HOW WOULD Y'ALL LIKE FOR THIS TO PASS?

Bill HR 45 introduced into the House, the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.

Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar.

Go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act

of 2009. Legislation would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:

Ed is right. Political action is all about money. As gun owners we know all about the NRA's ILA constant begging for money. Of course the anti-gun
organizations also beg their leftist constituency for money, although they are lavishly funded by Soros and many of the liberal foundations. It is ironic that
although the foundations were set up by wealthy industrialists and bankers, the foundations are now governed by board members that are hostile to capitalism
and personal freedom. The Ford Foundation is a good example. Henry Ford must be rolling in his grave.

I don't think that legislation would survive a judicial challenge if it did become law. It is a direct violation of the 2d Amendment, and the provision
about inspecting homes of gun owners to ensure the firearms were properly secured is probably a violation of the 4th Amendment (illegal search). Then again who
knows what the make up of the US Supreme Court may be in a few years. Note there is a federal $25 fee...

Ed is right. The constant begging for money can be annoying, but the NRA is feared by the anti 2A crowd for good reason.

I try to send them some dough when I can. My kids have given me more than a few NRA accessories as gifts over the years.

1. Keep "congress" gun-shy; work on your representatives and make them always aware that the Second Amendment and all the other amendments (First,
Fourth, etc.) which brace it are not "up for debate".
2. Support the NRA-ILA as you are able with your $; whatever you can do will help. The opposition has huge financial support. Not a single one of us is likely
going to match the money George Soros has to spend but we outnumber him.
3. A 1$ donation to the NRA-ILA may seem like spitting into the wind but every dollar helps - a single dollar pays some of the postage costs so don't think
that it is not worth the effort.
4. Don't hate the NRA or the NRA-ILA for "dunning" us; I know that it seems that the requests are endless but those who want us disarmed
won't take a break either.

It's a fairly old legislative proposal. At this time, it's not likely to pass, but the price of liberty is that of eternal vigilance. What worries me,
is that while they are distracting us with this "big" one, they'll slide two or three less intrusive bills in under the RADAR. Who knows what
might have been hidden in the "cap & trade" bill that the Hose just passed (again, without even having time to read it)? A little chip away
here, a little chip away there...

Yeah, I was wondering about this a little, as the message I just got from someone was dated back in April. The NRA-ILA called me a few weeks back for an
"emergency donation" (aren't they all emergencies?) and this may be what it was about (I sent them something). While you may be correct in
thinking that the bill is too much to swallow, remember all the outrageous things that this administration and congress have already passed with little if any
opposition, including our timid Republican congressmen and anesthetized voting public.

I don't believe this one has any chance at all, what with the Congress being a bit "Gun Shy". So it is unlikely to gain any support or sponsors
along the way, thus doesn't have much chance at passage. However, just the fact that it has been introduced, even if only by a generally disrespected
member of Congress (shouldn't most of them be), should be a wake-up call for all of us!

I believe this bill was identified here on the boards quite awhile back, and similarly dismissed. Still, it pays to be vigilant, so thanks for pointing this
one out here now!!!

I think they know that if they pass anything so obvious at this point, they will be responsible for escalating the issue to the next level, and there ain't
that many levels of escalation left!

That's my $.02 worth.
