A 1943 SAKO.

This thing looks like it went to the wars but I prefer 'em that way.

Gotta fess up. The bayo is a repro. not a "fake" mind, but an honest repro. It came with the rifle. I haven't ascertained yet which make it may
be. Some of the differences to prevent being seen as a 'fake'...

Repro is blued

repro oal is 11 3/4" to original's 11.5"

scabbard color is darker and metal rim is black instead of matching the rest....

Sorry to dredge up an old thread . . . here is an Imperial Eagle that got away. It's on my 1931 Hex 91/30 from Aztec - way back when you could get any of the Mosins for $49.95 (anyone remember those "good ol' days"??? I bought a complete set at that price when I first got my C&R). I didn't actually get this for so cheap but it was one of the last ones they had before they ran out of stuff to sell. Talked to the big boss himself to pick me out a good one. I think the price was $79.95 + $10.00 shipping.

Mike

Vic Thomas is saying the crossed cannon mark on the stock of Finn rifles is ID'ing the Sub Contractor of the stock and can contain a number. Keeping this
in mind could this be a sub contracted rifle barrel and the number is ID'ing a certain maker? I for some reason was of mind the they only had letters in
there and it ID'd the arsenal. Tried to find the other post on this to no avail but Yuku has been screwing around for days on me and I have lost several
posts. Bill

Yup Nug that is the one I was refering to. It looks like the crossed cannon one you usually see on stocks but I have never seen the Roman Numeral IV in there.
Wonder what that means? An arsenal designation like the letters mean? Bill

Hey Nothernug on the one picture (the first one) of the barrel badge area what is that stamping high and close to the back of the sight? Looks somewhat like
the crossed cannon marks usually having a depot mark in the middle. I do not recognize that mark in the center though. Just could be my old eyes doing there
age thing but had to ask. Thanks! Bill
