I have recently purchased a Polish Tokarev made in 1952. It seems like a good handgun and accurate for me.

My question is about pierced primers. About 40% of the rounds fired had opierced primers. Just a very small pin hole at the bottom of the firing pin dimple.
Is this normal for this gun. Tha ammo used is Romanian manufactured in 1984.

The other thing is that the firing pin dimple had a scrape that looked like it was caused by the firing pin. The scrape extends from the firing pin...

Could have a little loose breech.

Remove the slide and recoil spring. Drop the barrel into the slide to similate the "lock up" in the lugs. Check for and the amount of fore and aft movement of the barrel's lugs to the slide's lugs where they fit together.

This fore / aft movement shouldn't be too much at all...maybe .003-.005 max.

can be repaired by someone who knows how.... :^)

George, I have a TT30 and have shot it a lot with no primers issues. I'll look at the shells next time more closer. Does it happen on other brands of ammo?

Any comments will be appreciated.
