Have used Varget for match loads with good results. IMR4320 has been very accurate with 52gr bthp. Currently using TAC as it works well from 52gr to 80gr for me, and I got a bunch cheap.

I use Varget. It sometimes bridges if there is leftover lube on the cases, and I think it's a little dirty but it seems to be a safe and popular choice. I've also used 4198, IIRC, its been a while... Nowadays, use what you can get! Powder is sometimes hard to come by, although I've not done any reloading for a few months...

This probably won't help you at all, but I thought I'd throw it in. I have two .223 firearms:

1. A Contender with a scoped 14" .223 barrel: Using 50 gr match bullets over 24 gr of H322, I can shoot close to MOA groups all day at 100 yds off a rest.
2. A Savage Model 12 BVSS-S with 1 in 9" twist: With 60 gr bullets, nothing even comes close to 25 gr of Win 748. Definitely MOA groups at 100 yds.

Accurate 2230. It works quite well and duplicates military velocities with a full case. I've used most of the others but always come back to the 2230. I don't remember the exact charge, but after preparing some carefully crafted cases (weighed, carefully trimed to length, neck turned) and using 50 grain match bullets, I was vaporizing Starlings at 100 yards with an early model Armalite "Predator" AR15. It had an 18 inch, 1 1/8 diameter barrel, and made a single ragged hole at 100 yards with my load.

eb
