I saw this strange whitish-yellow orb in an oddly blue colored sky today. I think it is referred to as "the sun" according to legend.
Still a little on the cool side in regard to temps, but it was interesting to see the round yellow-white thing where nothing but gray has been for weeks now.

Hi All,
Well I plan to go shooting this Friday, looks like afternoon rain so I'll get there early? Temps will be in the upper 50's with a cold wind. Our gun laws are the worst, but the weather is the best... I try to get out to the range every other Friday. I miss the snow, but the mountains around our valley get a dusting 4 or 5 times each winter so I still get the views.

1100 feet here, the elevation starts east of here. It turned out to be a false alarm so far just a dusting Thank You God! 50's for the weekend Gun Show! Yeah! Bill

Zee, you moved to a 3K' elevation in the middle of the north-central part of the mountains and are fussing about the snow......

Woke up this morning to yet another 3-4" of heavy, wet snow.....no blowing this stuff off, it's gonna have to be plowed and shoveled.

Here in western Wisconsin it remains sunny with normal temperatures, free of falling snow, and none predicted for the next ten days. You guys in the east mustn't be living right so God is smiting you!!!! :-) Carl

We are getting winters that I remember when I was a little kid. ( 50+ yrs ago?)
Maybe we are getting back to normal?

Yeah Bill, I feel for you. I usually take 70 to 68 to Keyser's Ridge then 40 to go home in SW PA but I saw that 68 is closed today. Took a look on the SHA camera at Keyser's Ridge and holy moly it's a mess. And those folk up there know how to clear snow. Heard that Deep Creek got well over 200 inches of snow this season! Bad enough that we got 80 inches in Baltimore. For a while I was running out of places to put it! Thank God I inherited my Dad's old 12hp Gilson blower when he upgraded to the tracked monster he has now. In the last 20 yrs living in Baltimore it's dug me out of 36" in '96, 24" in '03 and 48" from the two storms earlier this month. Hell, I never remember seeing this kind of snow living back in PA in my youth.

I went to the range yesterday; same snow has been piled up there since Jan. Unusual for Missouri; has been a cold winter this year, nothing has melted.

Yupper here we go again! I got about a foot of new snow since Wednesday night and the temperature has been setting at around 18 since yesterday. I hate Winter even more everyday it seems. Did get an extra heater for the shop so I can work out there if I shovel my way out there! Chuck gave me a good idea which I am going to get to if I get out there for transport of bayonets to gun shows but that won't take to long. So I guess it is on to the M91 waiting for me to work and clean on.

Still have power, food, and warmth so I am not complaining too much! Stay warm Y'all! Bill

Ah, crapola. 18-24 inches, winds gusting to 80 mph. Coming down hard for the last 24 hours. I got through prepping 500 rounds each of 7.7 and 6.5 Arisaka Graf brass, guess I'll have to start on the second thousand of 7.5 Swiss. This stuff better go away soon or all the reloading equipment will be worn out....

If those kids are inside while the older folks are outside doing the manual labor, someone failed as a parent. (IMO).
We're all out shoveling and snow-blowing, once I get the basic path cleared off to keep them from packing the snow down on the sidewalk.
PS, more snow on the way, all through next Wednesday.

Not too bad here if you can manage a solid sheet of ice on every flat surface, then add 4+ inches of snow on top of that with more coming down.
I know that's not epic, but it's enough to foul things up when the equipment isn't available for snow removal.
Mercifully, the electric is still on.
Good day for reloading, reading, trolling the internet to see who's gone mad from cabin fever too.

Yeah WVchuck it is so bad up here in Pittsburgh that they called in the national guard. They are helping with the police, elderly etc... Then we are supposed to get even more snow. Something like another 8-10 inches on top of the 22 inches that is in my yard already. I guess since we are snowed in it will be a good time to sit inside and read a good book.

My favorite ranges- both of them- require one to go down long steep driveways to get to. If there's snow, it means one has to lug stuff from the lot a hundred yards away...only to watch all your brass disappear into the snow...trying to gauge the wind gusts...slogging down to the targets...I love Pennsylvania, but....aaaarrrrgggghhh! Anyone else's shooting get curtailed?
