Am I going to blow my self up |
Lead | |
|
I been looking for loading data for my romainian TT33. Lee posted some data with the dies that says 8.5 grains of AA#5 with a 90 grain bullet is hunky doory. I
downloaded to 7.9 grains. I look on line for data on different boards, everybody says dont use this data in the tokarev, only CZ 52, the loads posted show 6.8
grains of AA#5 as max. The velocity is only like 1234 fps. I have been shooting bulgarian ammo for a couple of months in my TT33 with no ill effects. Am I
going to blow myself up with 6.8 grains of AA#5, or shooting the bulgarian ammo?
Thanks, Sigboy |

I have been loading 7.62x25 for a while now. Still have all fingers and no facial disfiguration (because of the reloading anyways, ). I went through all the reloading books I have, using 100 gr plinkers,
Hornady HXP's, etc etc. Best bullet? Pulled Bulgarian or Romanian. I know I know I am going to get grief from some for pulling bullets from, ahem,
perfectly good ammo, but I was wanting to experiment with this cartridge.Besides, you can buy surplus and break them down cheaper than buying Hornady's or
Sierra's.
Results: 5 grains of Bullseye with a pulled bullet, seated to your preference, will drop the casings out of a TT33, 5 to 7 feet from you. CZ52's will still launch them into semi orbit. Still experimeting though, here lately I am casting Linotype, with a 93 grain .311 bullet, sized to .309 with a Lee sizer, and using 4.1 grs. of Bullseye, I am getting excellant results. |

Not sure I am buying all the hype about the CZ 52 being much stronger. | ||

Found some data on line that makes 5.3 grains of tight group behind a 90 grain hornandy XTP as fine for the CZ 52 but not so good for the TT33. So I loaded
them at 4.7 grains. the cases were ejecting not even a foot out of the gun. I was chrono'ing them around 1140 fps. I shoot some of the century bulgarian
surplus, the brass ejects a few feet from the gun, and crhonos at 1450 fps. No backed out primers, not cratering, no overt signs of pressure. I might bump up
my load to 5.2 grains of tite group and see what I get.
