Just picked this up today at the manatee gunshow. My first AK. Looks like a lot of fun. Now I just need a drum and maybe a scope.

The only problem with the RPK is the cone flash hider. I think it makes it look mean, but it also caused the darn thing to shoot about a foot high at 50 yards.ptrthgr8, those are really meant for use as a booster cone to help make the krinks and the like more reliable due to the shorter gas system. While it does look kind of cool, it doesn't really serve it's intended purpose on a long barell'd RPK variant. I usually see those sporting a cage type suppressor (on the 74's) or just a plain old barrel nut. |

SA58 wrote: Yup, I knew that type of hider was intended for the Krinkov (for the reason you mentioned), but I didn't think that would also
cause the rifle to be so horribly inaccurate.

Wow, now I can say "I know a guy with a REAL Dragunov"......although I reall don't KNOW Jeremy like I would want to. Maybe the next match.
I originally meant this thread to cause people to initiate new shooters with their AK's.....but seeing all these fine arms is awesome nonetheless. GREG |

This is my first AK purchase. Its a Romanian WASR-10/63UF. I know the WASR gets a bad rap from most. Had I researched before the impulse buy, I'd
probably gone Yugo. That being said, this gun works well enough and I enjoy it, so its a keeper.

Life is the crummiest book I ever read, there isn't a hook; Just a lot of cheap shots, pictures to shock, and characters an amateur would never dream up... |

I will try and take some pictures tomorrow. I only have one at present that will fire. A debanned Intrac II. Chris at ak-103 in Florida did a great job on
mine. Have a Romy G parts kit being built by overland in arizona at present and an AMD-65 that is still in part kit form. I have to save a little money and get
my sbr paperwork and then a build. The AMD kit is great, I should have bought a few more, great bore. You guys have some fine looking rifles. I really like the
looks of the fixed stock yugos with polished bolts. Also glad John Moses was able to put a MAS 49/56 in his photo.
