I shot this doe this last weekend with my M-24/47. I used 200 grain Speer and she was at about 75 yards. All my friends believe you need a magnum for hunting.
All she did was drop in her tracks, what more could you ask for from a hundred year old cartridge?

Congrats!! I got my yugo 2 years ago, cleaned it up and have yet to fire it.

The 200gr Speer is a great bullet. I shot a nice 8 pt Whitetail out of my M38 Turk this year with that bullet. Would not hesitate to use it on elk.
