Posts: 14 (02/17/09 08:30 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None My stepdad just purchased a WZ-88 polish tantal. he hates the furniture and was looking for an upgrade. i decided to post on this forum because i just looked for about an hour and found nothing. there was a parts kit for sale on gunbroker tha thad black furniture, but i have never seen anything like it for sale on its own, without buying a parts kit. i checked k-var, global trades, and apex gunparts, but came up empty handed. this is the kind of thing i'd like to buy for him. http://tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/parts2.html edit: regular AK furniture will not work on a tantel because of its unique gas tube arrangement. i bet the bottom would work or could be made to work, but the upper is completely unique. the only thing i think MIGHT work would be a galil style setup for an AK47, because it basically just covers up the gas tube. can you help? Give Atlantic Firearms a call and see if they can give you the name of the company that makes black poly furniture for their fixed stock Tantal. Posts: 1 (02/09/58 03:35 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I bought the Tapco furniture set for my Tantal (Galil-style folding stock, SAW 249 handgrip and Galil-style forearm - got the last of the Multicam sets). Observations - it makes the gun point better because it gives it a longer pull (about 1.5"), the grip is far superior to the tiny made-for-winter-gloves stock Tantal handgrip, and the forearm is much better and allows for steadier support. Problems/issues in installation: Handgrip - none Stock - none Forearm - here's where it got interesting - You have to shave off some of the back of the forearm because it is just a little too long overall to fit between the receiver and the forearm retainer (Tapco will tell you that if you inquire). When I tried seating the retainer in the front of the Galil-style forearm it took me a while to pin down why it was not fitting - The oval front retainer to hold the forearm in-place has two inner-facing tabs projecting into the channel about 3/16" from the upper limit of the forward forearm channel (1 1/16" from the top of the retainer). These prevent the retainer from seating in the forearm channel unless the inner part of the forearm channel is relieved at that point on each side to accommodate the tabs. Using the 3/32" drill provided with the stock you can reach from the outside of each side across and drill out the plastic on the inner channel on each side at a point matching the retainer tab projections. Once that is done it snaps into place and functions fine.
