Now or then? Which outfit?
The one in Illinois was a shark. He has since become a gunboards sponsor. You tell me if he will become a shark again? Dennis Jenkins

This company is located in Carpentersville,Illinois. They sell mostly the Dpms line, along with a few other things. Seems kinda like a wholesaler. My problem is
that over the years I've dealt with only a hand full of suppliers. Aim, J&g Sales, Allans,Brownells,Classic Arms. These people provide out standing
service, good products at great prices. Just want to try some other places. Plus they have ammo !

I had a problem with J&G sales 20 years ago. Would be very careful buying unbranded items.
I told you the truth about RGuns. Don't be surprised when they become sharklike again. Dennis Jenkins |

If you are planning on ordering some type of AR15 rifle, kit, upper or lower, I doubt that any vendor can meet a 2 to 8 week delivery right now.
I've never dealt with R-Guns, but I have with Model-1-Sales and Sherluk. For several years prior to the election, I had always had good experiences with both of these companies. But, right now, I'm having ongoing customer service issues with Model-1-Sales. I ordered a kit in November, the week after the election and it didn't arrive until the first of February. Upon arrival, I found that the barrel they sent me was the wrong twist-rate. I returned it a few days later, and still have not gotten a replacement. Their phone line stays busy 95% of the time, and when I do get through, I only get the run-around from their "customer service" person. I have not dealt with Sherluk since the election, so I don't know how they are doing now. All of the "evil black rifle" vendors may be having similar issues due to huge increases in orders. What puzzles me is, with the economy in the dumper, these few lucky businesses are getting record-setting amounts of orders. It seems to me that they could use their good fortune to hire a few extra people to help maintain their customer service. That simple act would stimulate the economy better than anything coming out of the DC-toilet.

I tried to deal with R-Guns back in 2002 ... and found that the owner had (more than) a screw loose. I have heard that they cleaned up their act but I will continue spending my money elsewhere. |

Thanks for the heads up guys ! These are "strange times" that we are going through right now. Best to deal only with the venders that you trust or
ones that have a endorsement from the members of this forum. If the deal looks to good to be true,it probably is'nt .

Dennis Jenkins1 wrote:Remember the story of the scorpion and the frog? The story is about a scorpion asking a frog to carry him across a river. The frog is afraid of being stung, but the scorpion reassures him that if it stung the frog, the frog would sink and the scorpion would drown as well. The frog then agrees; nevertheless, in mid-river, the scorpion stings him, dooming the two of them. When asked why, the scorpion explains, "I'm a scorpion; it's my nature." He may get glowing reviews because they are paying sponsorship money, but he's still a scorpion.

R-Guns has a generally good reputation on many posts on Gunboards. The exceptions occur when customer service is requested. They won't describe guns on the
phone, are hard to deal with on returns other than "just send it back". This is almost all based on 91/30 snipers. The problem there is that any
criticism of a Gunboard's sponsor is met with the same enthusiasm as one would expect after calling someone's mother a slut. Hard to judge, but I'd
say overall they would be a B- company.
