only loaded guns in my house in a colt defender 45 primary carry gun and a glock..( I know, bad choice here..lol) in a secure location. As for long guns..i just cant justify having a loaded 300 mag for self defense.

I hunt with three C&R Remington's, two 722's, and one 721. When hunting all guns are loaded unless we put them in the truck to drive out into the field, then it is a legal thing.

I don't keep C&R firearms loaded, but there's a few modern items with the mags semi loaded.
C&R firearms aren't loaded until I go to the range. ![]() |

I assume that you only own C&R for this pole? Then yes, loaded. Otherwise it would be quicker to use a bat. Keeping guns and ammo seperate and locked up is for the anti's not the real world. I grewup in the country and every farmer had a loaded .22 or shotgun behind the screen door and other folks had a loaded gun in the bedroom. We didn't have children shooting themselves or others EVER! My kids grewup with loaded guns in the house and they knew hoe to use them. We never had a problem. If you can't teach or trust by all means lock em up. I hope you never have to use one quickly...............Mike

Some of mine stay loaded, usually just the pistols but I keep everything except my home defense guns locked up in my gun room.

My Webley Mk IV is loaded with .45 ACP Black Tallons in a lock box bolted to the floor in my bedroom closet. Makes as good a house gun as anything.

Never keep anything loaded, but have speed loader with ammo for a .38 and shotgun shells next to it.
My children are all grown and gone, but when I was younger I kept a .22 pistol loaded in the book case bed. My wife's brother, wife and his child, about 9 years old, came to visit. The 9 year old walked into the kitchen and pointed the gun at his mother and said bang bang mommy. Never kept a loaded gun after that. I live in the country now and leave my front door unlocked almost all of the time, yes even at night. But in this part of the country people who break into houses and burglars are on the endangered species list. Every owns a tractor and a shotgun. One to take care of the problem and one to tow it away. |

Hi there
I don't keep the guns loaded, but there are 3 30 round AK mags ready next to a MAK 90 for emergencies if needed. Used to be a loaded .357 in the night stand before I swapped it for another rifle. On occasion I do pull out a 870 Rem 12ga if I here shots in the neighborhood. Mike |

My brother carried my P38 (ac43) for a time in the 80's when he was a bounty hunter.
I don't keep any C&R's on "ready alert." hsc |

Well my dad did at one time had a Remington Rand 1911 loaded on his dresser just in case. Since he is getting older he likes my lee enfield because of its
detachable mag and he says it does not kick him that bad, so he uses that since he shakes too bad to use a handgun. Ever since our new neighbors moved in there
has been a lot of trouble including questionable drug deals. So he told me since I never sleep to keep my Winchester 97 at the ready in case he can't react
fast enough. That and they tried getting into our storage shed and basement, so it is a must for us. We don't have to worry about anyone finding them in
the house ( like young kids since we don't have any around ) because my parents and I sat down to discuss this before we decided to keep loaded ones in
the house. We live on the outskirts of town, so even if we did call the police they would not be here in time.
