Also the Hornady Hollowpoint is great, That is what I have in it for carry. But for just plinking is the Russian steel case ammo of various brands OK. Anybody have problems with the steel stuff?

The Brown Bear 9x18 is pretty good, much less dirty and smelly than theWolf brand. I think AIM is still selling it. Happy shooting!!!! Tmygun

Posts: 7 (07/14/09 01:24 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	My 82 will feed the Blazer Gold Dot 90 grain HP just fine. It will not feed the Cor Bon 95 grain HP at all as they hang up on the feed ramp. Have not found any problems with any of the FMJ bullets.

I haven't tried the Blazer ammo tho', the 95gr HP's hang up. presume the same for the Hornady as it is the same bullet used by Cor-Bon. Have been very successful with the Wolf (Brown Bear, etc.) HP, smooth as silk - just not the punch of the Cor-Bon. The Cor-Bon works fine in my Makarov by the way. Disagree with just plinking with FMJ and carrying HP, unless you have shot a lot of an HP and KNOW it will work when needed. JMTCW

The original 9mm Mak cartridge is too light & when the CZ82 was in development S&B made a special round for CZ 82 with about 20% more velocity & a lighter bullet.. Check out the CZ82 range report... But only Corbon makes a load with over 1100 fps. Which is a shame because I can't even find a .365 bullet under 90 grns to load my own.. It should be in the +p range & I would like to find a cheaper alternative to Corbon... The standard 9mm mak loads all stay well under 1000fps. IF anyone finds a .365" or .364" HP under 90 grns please post it here!!! Remember, the 2nd Amendment is the 2nd most important Law our founders wrote, & only after Freedom of Speech

Not sure if you left off some words or what, these statements don't make sense. Posts: 15 (08/11/09 10:22 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I suppose I got that worded a bit off.. The CZ82 was originally designed around a special load in the 9X18 case. That load was about 20% higher velocity using a 69 grn sintered metal bullet over about 4.7 grns of MDN-9 vz 82 powder. This also was the reason fo rthe odd rifling choice. It was made that way because the Czech Military had specific ballistics which the standard 9X18 Mak did not meet. What I meant in the prior post was that Corbon loads are the closest to what the CZ82 was designed to shoot (Corbon the only ammo that is what the CZ82 was designed for). I should have included the word "AVAILABLE". I am looking for a load that equates the original load & make the CZ82 into a better carry weapon. The 9X18 isn't even up to .380 and load choices are extremely limited to velocities in the 800 fps range. The correct VZ82 9mm load was in the 1100 fps range. Posts: 2 (11/22/09 12:13 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	He means that the 82 was set up for hotter loads than maks and corbon is the only load that somewhat matches the original IHO...if so, probably a heavier factory spring or heavier slide. Anybody have both handy and a way to weigh the slides...maybe a digital fish scale or kitchen scales. The scales would not have to be accurate... just compare if one is heavier than the other.
