A FN49 will do nicely.

I posted a similar thread back in 2004 after "Dawn of the Dead" came out (again). I remember it took MONTHS for someone to answer the post!!!!
hsc Lee Enfield does pack the most rounds, but I have FEW stripper clips and only about 40 rounds. M38 (Swede) would be a great pick but I only have 300 rounds. K98 I have both lots of rounds (5K+) and lots of clips......at least 2000 rounds ON stripper clips. So either the Swede or the K98 for me! Best bet in such a situation is an immediate evac to a safe place! As played on the radio during the movie: "find someplace safe and stay there". |

Zombies are like snakes. They can slither into just about any 'safe' place. Plus they can outwait anyone with a pulse. When you go out for
food.......Wham. Brains sucked.

Do we have the makings of a movie? Parallaxites Battle the Zombies.
I've never watched a zombie movie since I'm not into horror flicks but do zombies come from particluar groups? Could they be nazi zombies we'd be
battling? Carl

Watch this clip. It may save your life. Come to think of it, the zombie of the staircase looks like Jerry.

I missed the part about bolt guns only.
Guys, you do realize there ARE NO ZOMBIES? Doc, check the valve on the nitrous. |

JM, you are partly correct. There are no zombies at MY house. I blasted them all with my Enfield. Better check your basement though.

John Moses wrote:John Moses, maybe the fictional undead are the stuff of movies but in a social or economic breakdown, starving welfare zombies will be everywhere. Food, shelter and prescriptions cut off make for some crazy mutants. Even worse though, these could be armed to the teeth, highly mobile and possibly clever. In this scenario all bets are off. Bring on the high cap auto loaders.
For the sake of this thread, I would go with my yugo M48. I have lots of ammo, a bayonet and it swings like a Louiseville slugger.

One caveat. Don't shoot the undead after the rapture. Those are the good guys.

well, in order to get prepped for the upcoming onslaught I got a DVD copy of
The Last Man on Earth w/ Vincent Price from my friendly, neighborhood WallyWorld today it's an earlier (poor man's version) of the recent I Am Legend flick featuring Will Smith hopefully, I get some pointers
and FWIW, the ammo shelves in the sporting goods section were still empty how about some hot, buttered popcorn to go with dem brains? Bob |

How about an M95 Steyr. If you get enough of them lined up in a hallway you could get 4 or 5 with one shot.
Also heard that Zombies like brains, well at least I know I am safe

For up close and personal inside the supermarket, at home or on the bus, a De Lisle. It's easy on the ears and won't call out to the zombie masses plus
also good in tight areas and takes the same .45 caliber ammo as my everyday zombie pistol.
Longer range stuff for slow movers calls for a Finn M/N in 91/30 or m39. Cheers

You know WV Chuck, I FINALLY saw the movie that came from....so when I took my mom and dad on Memorial Day to the cemetary, I did feel a bit weird and looked
over my shoulder since my mother's name is "Barbara."
Guys, that one poster is right! No need for a regular full-power round.....a destroyer carbine would be about perfect since it is a bolt action and would have plenty of power and reach for the ranges involved. Or a .22 might even be better. I think the ZOMBIE WAR HANDBOOK claims they are attracted to sound....so throw in a surpressor. hsc |

Bolt gun? Definitely an Enfield. Jungle Carbine sounds good....
One caveat....it must be equipped thusly for anti-zombie duty...
10 rds, charger loading, then turn it into a melee weapon when the ammo is gone... Life is the crummiest book I ever read, there isn't a hook; Just a lot of cheap shots, pictures to shock, and characters an amateur would never dream up... |

here i am with a stock pile of ammo and i cannot find the first zombie to try it out on.just think if we were in europe or somewhere and it had a military
grave yard then we could see military trained squads coming at you

Carl Gustav wrote:Yes, it's called "Night of The Living Dead" lol! At the end of the movie, there are a bunch of guys with old bolt-actions wiping out the last of the zombie hoard. I have to cast my vote for the No.1 or No. 4 Lee-Enfield. It's big enough and is hefty enough that if the situation arises, it would make a great baseball bat. |
