Second would be a non Russian capture K98 like all those I passed on 10 years ago or more. Worn finish, mismatch numbers, I simply would not care. I am a battle rifle guy and the worn finish is cool in my old eyes. How about you? If something were to become available again or for the first time as a C&R or collectible what would you want it to be?? Also a Swede M38, a Polish Mauser and the same in Portuguese make my list as well as any Latin American 7mm Mauser in very good condition. The BATF shall not be confused with reason nor logic despite the ability of the M14 easily and permanently being made semi-auto. There are bunches of good things in Ukraine and other former Soviet republics. Captured G41's and G43's, SVTs, Soviet TT33's etc. There were a few hundred thousand Winchester M95's in 7.62x54r that were sent to the Russians. I need one! Last Edited By: H0mer2 06/08/09 07:46 AM. Look at all the changes that the former Soviet Union went thru since 1917. I really doubt that there are very many left that they are aware of. Heck, they need cash money just like the rest of the world, and selling them off to the US is what they did in the past and made good money at it. If there were still stockpiles of them, I would suspect they would still be selling them now, especially with the gun buying frenzy this country is seeing. They could make more money now than before. Curt They might be getting more dollars for them now, but those dollars would rapidly becoming worth less, until the ultimate goal of this intentionally engineered madness is reached, where our dollar is truly worthless! I'll put in for the CMP selling semi-only M14's as well, though I think the Founding Fathers would be much happier if we could all get the select fire version!
