I was so happy.......UNTIL I realized I forgot my ear plugs! I was going to leave but upon looking around, found an UNOPENED PACK! Man I got lucky....should I buy a lotto ticket? Anyway, was doing pretty well. A guy pulled up and then later his friends. They were a cool bunch. My Mausers did great so that was good. 1.20 inch 200 yard group with the K98....much better than the guy with the 'scoped blitzenboomer. I jokingly said: "maybe you're going at this the wrong way....get one of these". He laughed and agreed. One guy let me try is police-marked 686 and Sig .40 DAO......dang they were smooth! Only negative was one guy swept everyone with a .45 after finishing off the mag and closing the slide. Strangely this same dude commented about his recent military experience. Still, a great time at the range. GREG

Questioning them on their military service convinces you that the only military experience they had was reading Sgt. Rock comic books! Curt

I always keep a few "spare" sets of foam plugs in the jeep toolbox, as well as in my range ammo can. The past several WV Blast-O Ramas have had non-WVBOR's showing up to sight in their deer busters with no hearing protection at all! And they bring their kids too. I hand out plugs to the little ones first, then the "adult" that brought them to the range with the comment that walmart sells them cheap and is worth the $1.99 for 6 sets. The goofiest thing I ever saw was the grandpa that brought his archery stuff to the rifle range. I still haven't figured that one out. The coolest thing was the guy who brought his home made semi-auto 1919 last December! He ran a belt or two through it just to see if it would run right.

Do something stupid and they will be all over you,like ugly on ape. You will then be fast tracked out the front gate in record time.Odd that the people who claim to have the most shootings skill's are sometime's the worst offender's when it comes to safety. I've met tons of green berets,rangers,seals,spec ops,etc at public ranges.The minute I hear this nonsense,I ask the range master to relocate me as far away as I can get from this person. Bullet's hurt,and I'am just to old to spend a saturday having a bullet carved out of me.

Posts: 6661 (04/11/09 09:35 AM) Veteran member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Funny, but at the range it brings out every ex Navy Seal, Green Beret, Ranger, and Spec Ops type person who you know never was even in the military. Especially after watching them how they handle their firearms, constantly sweeping the crowd with their handguns and such. What I get a kick out of is the guy who brings an AR-15 to the range and that rifle is decked out with every conceivable device under the sun. Bi-pods, long magazines that you load on Saturday and shoot all week with, flashlights, lasers, red dot sights, Hubbel Scopes and much more. It takes them a half hour to put it all together to be ready to shoot. Then a guy with a lousy SKS rifle proceeds to outshoot him! If that is the way they want to keep the economy going by spending big bucks on that crap, fine with me. But I am that guy with the lowly SKS and I always come home from the range with a big smile on my face. Curt

Posts: 1905 (06/08/09 06:26 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	It's also fun to outshoot someone with their own gun when they think it has a problem and ask me to check it out. On a side note, just because a guy doesn't shoot well doesn't mean he is lying about his military service. I know several guys, air force, spec ops, and airborne that shoot with me all the time and they are not that good of shooters. The ranger served in combat in Iraq and did a tour in Afganistan and I would not question his service, ever.
