Well we shot today, a fellow there showed me how his "lasermax" laser sight works (whoa!) then proceeded to tell us how "dangerous a K31 MUST BE since it's a straight pull." The fellow to the right of us took up for the Swiss rifles with great enthusiasm so I didn't say much. That fellow also had a 6.5 Creedmore....wow those rounds look cool!
Here's how we did:
My "new to me" code 337 K98 did great! Smoother than even my S/147! Austen didn't like the sights though.
The K31 he really liked, but ammo prices are a bit much for him and I expected that. We did some side-by-side shooting of it and me with the K98. He even outdid me a bit...at least until I figured how how much lower to aim with the 337.
M91/30 did great (Roses' 1997 $40.00 version) and although the trigger annoyed him, he liked the sights, price, and ammo availability/prices. Pakisti ammo did MUCH better than I expected it to. Only one "click-bang" out of some 20 rounds.
I've already sent him a bunch of auction links and an aimsurplus ammo link, he may buy this week. I think he'll take a Moisin over the K31, mainly due to ammo pricing.

He's a great shot and wants to make the next Charlotte match.
