M38 Stock versus M44 need help

I own an M38 but do not have a M44 to compare it to. Can someone post a picture of the cutout for the bayonet please? I have never seen one and I would really like to get some help on this. Posts: 270 (08/16/09 11:47 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	In late 1943, some M38 carbines were fitted with M43 carbine (looks like an M44 but is dated 1943 on the barrel shank) stocks that have the bayonet cutout, and in early 1944 when the M44 went into official production, the M44 style stock began being used on new production M38 carbines. What year is your M38? What type sling slot escutcheons does it have - the stamped and folded sheet metal "half-liner" in both slots or a half-liner in the front sling slot and an unlined wood rear slot, or the pressed in oval escutcheons in both slots?
