Posts: 15 (09/15/09 09:25 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None After waiting what seemed and eternity for my 03FFL (actually only 6 weeks) I was itching to buy my 1st C&R firearm. Got a Mosin-Nagant hex receiver M91-30 on order from AIM. Should get here tomorrow or Thursday. With my eyes, I already ordered a Scout Mount from Darrell, knew I'd be happier with a scope on it . I'm guessing that I'll be cleaning out cosmo for awhile before I can see the stock, etc. and get a chance to try it out? No matter, part of the experience of collecting. Wife thinks I'm crazy, but after 30+ years, she should already know that! I've been lurking on the board, reading info. This place is a wealth of knowledge, THANKS! Pix when I can. Posts: 2089 (09/16/09 02:28 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Now you will need a round receiver 91/30 and a 1938, and a 1944, and a 91/59, and a '91 and a few Finns, etc. I ordered one from SOG back in December and received an absolutely beautiful 1931 Tula. No cosmo, no gunk, no rust, no pitting, virtually new bore. Still haven't fired it, but there are probably 10 or 12 others around the house I haven't fired either. It's pretty amazing that in 2009 you can still buy a rifle like this for $79. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Why not join us at Milsurp After Hours handloading forum

Posts: 811 (09/16/09 07:39 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	My last AIM refurb, a1934 Izhevsk, put 5 czech silvertips into 1/2 inch at 25 yards. OK short range but still not so bad. Funny thing is, bore is kinda dark and worn, worst looking refurb bore I have. I have all 91/30 years from 1923 to 1944 except 26, 37, and 40 about half are refurbs. I've shot all but a Tula MO 1931/50. It's next. Agree that these are still great bargains.
