BALLSANDBULLETS...
Whoops! I forgot a US Krag M1898 or M1896! That's what I get from doing this from memory. |

If you don't already have a Smith Model 10, you need to make that a priority
My preference is the 6" pencil barrel, I care little about "dash" models, whether it's a "no dash" "-3" or
whatever, mine's a 10-5 6" blued pencil barrel and it shoots so well you will wonder why anyone bothers with adjustable sights! Sadly a lot of these
ended up with Pachmayr or Hogue ugly as sin grips over the years as shooters bought them cheap when auto's came into vogue in the 80's-90's and
tried to make them more "useful" by discarding the wood grips and adding rubber.
If not a true actual Model 10, when they started the numbering system in 1952 or so, but even an M&P........no matter what you're collecting interests are there is a M&P- M10 that goes along with it, everyone from Britain to Japan used them at some point. My beater No. 4 Enfield has a "companion" sidearm of my beater Victory in .38/200. They were also one of the most ubiquitous police sidearms from probably the 1900's to as late as the early 1990's with Colt probably the only one other piece found in near as many police holsters in say 1950. |

I "NEED" a 7mm mauser type and a lever action 30-30. Saw a really nice Chilean mauser at gander mtn the other day, but didn't have $300 in my
pocket and the wife won't let me out of the house with the plastic.

This is the big reason they made my wishlist. The NYPD favored Model 10's with 4" barrels until they adopted the disastrous S&W 5946 (arguably the least-well-liked handgun ever carried by a police department). My Dad was a Manhattan Assistant District Attorney for upwards of 30 years and got to fire the Model 10 on a few occassions (he thought they were Model 10-6's when I asked). He was the one who made the recommendation and if I get one, I have a feeling he'll be shooting it more than I do when we go to the range. |

I just want an income, so I can start thinking about new acquisitions again.
M94 Swede Krag long rifle Shiloh or C. Sharps MVA scope for my Rem RB BPCR 1903 high number (have a low number, but ... ) Ruger Mk I (only gun that has ever gotten away from me) Colt's Paterson & maybe a Dragoon repro. 1871 Mauser (71/84 okay) 1890 Turk in 7.65 (yeah, right) Perhaps a full scale field cannon like an 1841 6 pounder or maybe a 12 pound Napoleon (hey Doc, I already have the mortar) There's a couple of years worth of wages already, though I'm sure there is plenty more I could list, but my imagination has been a bit stunted lately. It's way okay though, as I have plenty of prior acquisitions to play with, and I do!!! |

Au,
The Sharps is a good idea. Reminds me I'd also like a Trapdoor Springfield, while we're at it :-) |

Forgot to add:
Immediate "needs"
Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum, 7.5" barrel preferably blued, stainless is cool too though Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 Casull, mainly so I can shoot hot .45 Long Colt More like "wishes"...... A shootable Luger of any kind, don't care if it's a mismatch, reblue, refurb or re-anything, as long as it shoots! A Krag long rifle, any kind of shape as long as the bore is nice........even take a hack job as long as the barrel was unmolested, so I could attempt a resto with a repro stock.....just want a shooter to go with my Bannerman cut-down Original Colt 1860 Army Mauser Gew98 |

A H&R M1 Garand Correct Grade or Collector Grade made in 1954. A lot of time to shoot it thoughtfully. More Time to shoot with my good friends. And all of

I'm getting serious about the 458WM now. I shoot my 375H&H as regular as my milsurps and have developed a big bore 'fetish'(?). I wish I
didn't since it costs more to feed but it's just so entertaining.
I've shot a 404 Jeffery and someone elses 458 and they were managable and not all that unpleasant. Another guy at our club has just bought a brand new 505 Gibbs (not sure of the make or model but it has a spectacular piece of timber on it), but I think it would break me if I fired it . He also had a cut with stitches on his eyebrow as a result of bench rest
shooting it with a scope mounted the day before
I guess this is filling a gap that prohibition of semi-autos has opened up for us over here. |

stantheman1986 |
No semi-auto's | ||

I guess if you can't fire 30 or 40 rounds of something as fast as you can pull the trigger, I guess the next best thing is to lob big powerful bullets out
there! It's probably why I like revolvers more than autos, when I shoot my Glock I usually just shoot just for the sake of shooting, and the low recoil and
hi capacity make you just subconsciously empty the mag with less thought as to placement.......much more fun and satisfying to drop huge .44 Mag rounds in the
chambers of my Smith M29 and actually make my hits count!
I have way, way more fun shooting my 45-70 Trapdoor than something like an SKS anyway.......can't wait to shoot the 50/70!

I recently made a list of "affordable" guns (i.e. leaving out exotic/full auto guns I'll never be able to afford) that I would like to own
someday.....it's sickening! If I keep collecting my whole life I might end up with half the guns on the list.

I'd like 10K of affordable 7.62x51. Otherwise, I'm going to have to shoot 5.56 in 3 gun matches next year instead of the M1A.
