Pete,
I'm no expert on Swede surplus ammo, because I handload everything I feed mine. However, given that this cartridge came out in the 1890's, I'll guarantee that plenty of 6.5X55 was corrosive. If they say it is, why doubt? Is there any chance you may be thinking of Swiss GP-11 ammo, which I do believe was all non-corrosive? Another question to ponder - if this is machine gun ammo, how do you know for sure it isn't loaded to higher pressure that what you should use in an M94 action? Especially for the prices that non-reloadable surplus is selling for these days, I would find the data for it and ask questions. There was some Danish 6.5X55 out there that is ABSOLUTELY unsafe to fire. No importer is going to make sure that imported surplus ammo conforms to present-day SAAMI standards - you bear that risk entirely on your own. Maybe someone on this forum is familiar with it and can give it a good recommendation. Crunch

The SAMCO "Linked" 6.5 with the '56 H/S is NOT corrosive | ||
|
Old Sneaky back and sorry I'm so late posting this: Bot I sent an enquiry to that military acquaintance who is an Official with the Swedish Defence
Ministry asking about he 6.5 W/ a H/S of 56(made in 1956) and he sent me an "E"mail back that the Sweds did NOT use Corrosive primers in '56-- he
did go on to say that ammo made in 56 might be quesionable because of the age of the brass case???----Also to be noted---- SAMCO advertised that the
projectiles weighed 146gr BUT I pulled at random 10 projectiles--5 each from the 2 belts I bought and the average weight was 140gr on my Lyman 1200
digital---so i suspect that the rounds are the 139gr FMJ. At the range they were 2>3 MOA accurate- supported 10 round groups--again sorry I'm late with
this. THANX--SNEAKY
