Man, that hurts even from here! I'll bet it's feeling even worse than at first. In my experience, the third day after is the worst that something like
that gets, then it starts getting better. Hope you are prescribing yourself all the necessary relief, and that you are on the mend now!!!

I Just came back from the orthopedist. He thinks I'll be 100%. He said the pain and swelling will improve and the range of motion should be better in 6
weeks, but it can take 6-12 months to be back to normal.

Dr, Jellyfinger's on the back burner.
For the most part Motrin has been good enough for my pain. Tomorrow I have a lot of procedeures scheduled, we'll see how the hands hold up. I'm optimistic. I can't NOT work, I'm too much of an OCD overachiever! |

I think they will total the bike, but IMHO the damage is minor so I'll buy it back if it's cheap enough and fix it over the winter.
I'm happy to say I'm doing much better! I'll be OK soon. |

Glad you're going to be OK Doc!!!. I have heard it said of motorcyclists that there are two kinds- Those who have gone down--- and those who will.
Personally, I never took up motorcycles.
But talk about idiots on the road! I used to be a truck driver and I've seen it all! I think the two worst distractions are reading- not just maps but newspapers and paperbacks! The next are people having, er, conversations... (look the word up in the dictionary if you needs must and use your imagination.  ) I am not referring to two people talking...

It sounds like that bike is likely better suited to the off-road... no dizzy bubbleheaded bleech-blonds on i-phones driving through the outback (at least, I
hope).
I never got into motorcycles, due to a couple of friends getting killed when I was a Junior in High-School. It wasn't their fault, someone high on drugs in a car wiped them out at a T-intersection, before hitting the concrete embuttment across from the mandatory "Stop, and turn left or right, because you can't go straight" sign. Since then, I have had several other friends killed or paralyzed in motorcycle road-wrecks, none of whom was the wreck their fault. As far as my dirt-biker friends, none have been killed or paralyzed, just the common broken legs or arms. I like the idea of the Ford F-350 Power-Stroke Diesel, extended-cab, dually...! -Just my two-cents... Bean

My limited biking experience involved a bad spill on a gravel road, that was enough for me.
Street bikes and rural/unpaved secondary roads in WV do not mix well.
