My C&R pistols have started out pretty good: the affordable and historically significant if clunky Nagant Model 1895 revolver, the elegant Webley & Scott Mk. IV (a pistol that has my Dad, who hasn't shot a pistol since the 1960's, wanting to go to the range!), and the innovative and sturdy Colt Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless (a reliable Browning design that really, REALLY seems to fit me well). Expect an FN Browning Model 1900 and a Colt Police Positive from the late 1940's to join them as part of my C&R pistol collection in the coming month! Also, while it isn't a C&R, my Romarm Draco on layaway certainly has more milsurp spirit to it than a modern pistol.
But I did get four modern pistols. Technically three; one is kinda being held up because the guy lost my dealer's FFL copy. And here they are (of the ones I have pictures of)...
-Intratec AB-10S/S Stainless Semiauto 9mm
-Intratec TEC-22T Semiauto .22.
-Jimenez Arms JA-22 Semiauto .22
-The box for my Jimenez JA-22.
Not pictured is a Raven Arms MP-25.
So, why the, umm, politically incorrect guns in the same collection as a Webley Mk. IV and a Colt Model 1908? Well, call it a reaction to NY state telling me which guns were and were not politically correct. The AB-10 and TEC-22 represent the "best" of both worlds: the banners there (who wielded much power and who thankfully have yet to use it to ban these guns outright) wanted them considered "Saturday Night Specials" and "assault weapons." I'm also going to get an Interdynamic KG-99 and a Masterpiece Arms MPA10T-A next month in addition to the Browning 1900 and the Colt Police Positive, but those are higher quality. I just don't want anyone to think I've lost it for the types of guns I'm buying. Or at least, that there is a method to my madness. Now, I do have a slight advantage: I polished out the AB-10 and greased it where the parts seem to have a lot of play. I also plan on using only 115 gr. FMJ ball ammo. I have a new spring and firing pin on order for the TEC-22 (although truth be told, the existing ones are fine) and will use CCI Mini-Mags, which is just about the only ammo the TEC-22 really likes. I plan on a "fluff and buff" for the Jimenez JA-22 (a Jennings J-22 under a new name and slightly better quality control), then using it with hypervelocity ammo. The Raven Arms MP-25 was tested for me and that supposedly doesn't jam and is also pretty accurate, so I'll see what happens with that at the range. Any thoughts (outside of "good luck getting those to work!"
P.S. When the Raven Arms MP-25 comes in, I'll add a nice-quality picture.
