Picked up a Smith and Wesson Model 10-5 this weekend. New and unfired for $425. It is a snub, with square butt and what appears to be (by what you can measure)
about a 1 1/4 inch barrel. This seemed very short, but the gun appears factory new. Is this a common length barrel for a Model 10? How do you Smith guys think
I did on the money? I'm not familiar with Model 10 prices in this configuration. I bought it on a whim, as I was looking for a nice 4 inch M29 but was
unable to find a nice one at the show.

Did you measure through the frame all the way to the forcing cone. Revolver barrel lenghts are measured from right in front of the cylinder forward. I sold a
used one on gunbroker about six months ago only in round butt configuration, I think I got about $375 in real good condition so 4 and quarter isn't real
bad but no great deal in my opinion.

That's right Cisco, I had forgotten how to properly measure it. Thank you. I was satisfied with the price, but didn't know if it was a good price. He
had $445 on it and dropped $20. Not sure of it's age, but it has remained in new condition, and that's how I like to buy em. I've never been known
for finding bargains. ha But I am known for buying high and selling cheap. If I want it, I'll pay for it, and when I decide to sell, I price to sell.
I'm no businessman...... ;o)

So, is it actually a 2 1/2" barrel, right?
I like those old K frames. |

After Cisco reprogrammed me brain, (I was not thinking) it appears to be a 2 inch barrel, Bryan.
