I posted this on the German board. Stock numbers don't match the metal.

With a stock like that, forget about the numbers!

Nice rifle and gorgeous stock. What is the value of these M1912's nowdays. It has been awhile since I have even seen one at a gunshow.

Been awhile since I saw one offered as well, but I'd guess $350 and up for a good shootable example in solid used condition. I'd be afraid to even try
to guess the premium a stock like this one's would add to that base price! If minty, they'd probably be reaching toward four figures!?!?

It's been sitting in the same store for months.. too tempting to leave there.

The bolt-handle should not be turned down. It's been monkeyed-with somewhat. I'd say $275 tops.

Good point Bean!
The short rifle had a turned down bolt handle with this radius style and no stock cut-out, but the long rifle did not, as based on my references. So whoever did it seems to have gotten about the right contours and spacing, but now that you mention it, the A in the serial number on the bolt handle in the last picture does look a little bit "stretched"! I'd gladly still pay more than $275 for it, but as a serious collectors piece ... well, it is at least still a beautiful rifle!!! |
