My main camera is an Olympus C770 "Ultra Zoom." It will take close ups to 3/4" and has a 10x optical zoom. That is my pride and joy.
Unfortunately, it is so much so that I am afraid to take it anywhere because we really couldn't afford to replace it. Besides, a pocket camera would be
handier for family events anyway and my technologically challenged wife just can't seem to figure out the Olympus two stage trigger and to not turn the
knobs on it when it's autoset.
But that's ok. Among other
wonderful attributes, she bakes!
But toreturn to cameras, I settled on a Kodak Z1485 IS. I haven't figured out all the bells and whistles yet, (I'm not very techno-savvy either, actually) and it seems like it can do a fair job for our purposes too.
Here's a couple shots I took with it.oor with the unit's flash. Difficult shots at best.
Though purchased for family outings, I'd say adequate for our needs too. And though a little bulkier tan some, it has 5x optical zoom, itdoes still fit in my shirt pocket.
