Have probably only HELD a black riffle about six times before today. But Pitbull's post on the CMMG Bargin Bin got me thinking and, well, I am going to blame him for wherever this leads... Ok, I still don't know how to post pictures so you all will need to bear with me. Essentially, my gun is identical to Pitbulls condition wise. I have a Double Star lower. Is this good? I also DO NOT have a front sight. Where the "standard" type front site sholuld be instead is a flat top block like assembly. I have this odd hunch that this is one of those "good" things that will somehow cost me more money. Upper markings seem to match Pitbulls. So, I have AR15.com bookmarked. And have an 11x17 version of the "barbie for men" poster. But what do I do next?

Posts: 6724 (11/20/09 11:39 PM) Forum Site Moderator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Who? Me???? Okay...no front sight, but has a "ribbed base", right? That's one of the "tacticool" things. You have the ability to put a front sight of your choice on there, or no front sight whatsoever (like if you wanted to say, scope the rifle). For front sights, I'd use the Troy folding front sight, and either a Troy or Magpul BUS for the rear. (a Magpul will fit the front, but it isn't recommended, as it's polymer and they're concerned about heat from the gas block. You can mount a sight on the gas block, or you can get an extended handguard rail and mount the sights on the rail, or...well...it is Barbie for men.... Double Star should be fine. I have several friends whose rifles are built upon Double Star receivers, including some Post-Sample FA guns. Post pix when you get the chance. Life is the crummiest book I ever read, there isn't a hook; Just a lot of cheap shots, pictures to shock, and characters an amateur would never dream up...
