I think the banners came up with that moniker because one of the bullets the 5.7x28 uses is designed specifically to go through bullet-proof vests. Although I would agree that if a pistol got banned by being singled out it would be the Five-seveN, I wouldn't think it would be for that. Even the ATF was unconvinced after the Brady Bunch put on their little "look how evil this gun is!" demonstration. But I do think this gun might incur the wrath of the gun-unfriendly administration because Malik Nidal Hasan used one in the Ft. Hood shootings. The Norinco AK's were in a pretty similar position in 1989 when Patrick Purdy shot those school children in Stockton. Incidentally, I'd rather this thread not go political...you have a very nice pistol there!...but I do think a basic explanation of why the gun might be targeted for a ban is acceptable.
