hello, first of all I am not actually a new member I have been around for awhile, first as a member when I first started collecting, then as a lurker.this period has been over several years.we all have experimented over time how to best clean up an old rifle stock of cosmoline dirt grease, etc.I think I have hit upon one of the least destructive ways to do that.after a frustrating bout of cleaning with a yugo and using the methods here I was not happy using water and degreaser on my weapon.I went on a shopping trip with my wife and while we were coming down the cleaning supplies aisle I spotted a product called weimans lemon oil,I thought for a second and thought well I will give it a try. it read on the label that it was good for wood and cleans.when I got home I went to my work area and could not believe how fast the cosmoline and dirt melted away,it even worked on the metal parts.this post was not meant to discredit anyones methods of cleaning stocks, but to merely to help others.
