cabela mistake on ammo |

I ordered some 45 long colt ammo from Cabelas and received 44 colt instead. What is 44 colt? Are they interchangeable? I was hoping to shoot my new NMBH
with some 45 colts. Guess I'll send them back.
thanks, Bill

The "Long Colt" designation is a falsie. Never was known as that until some bozo on the internet invented the term. Simply .45 Colt
According to Cartridges of the World .44 Colt is a blackpowder cartridge that was developed to use in the metallic cartridge conversion of the 1860 Colt precussion revolver. Commercial versions were loaded until the 1940's. There may now be a resurgence due to Cowboy Action Shooting but the book says that cartridges are becoming a collector item. |

I found several articles on both the .45 LC thing and .44 Colt by doing a google search.

If they are 44 Colt, they are worth a LOT more than 45 Colt to the right guy. I would not send them back.

To close this thread, I mailed the 44 colt back and then got a letter from Cabelas that said they dont' take ammo back due to safety. Then I got an
email that said they decided to exchange it for 45 colt and that it is back ordered. So, maybe by summer I'l' be shootin' some...

The body weight of a healthy 3-month old colt should be about mu = 60 kg.
a). If I want to set up a statistical test to challenge the claim that mu = 60 kg. what would I use for the null hypothesis ? b). What if I wanted to test the claim that the average Nevada colt (3 months old) is less than 60kg. What would I use for the alternate hypothesis? |
