Now the story after I bought the rifle for $400 he said he had a couple of other guns he would bring for us to see tomorrow and that one was a Luger but it was partially dissasembled. We said no problem we'll take care of that for you and oil and check it too. The guy brought an all matching Black Widow BYF 43 Luger in a bag but in great shape and all like brand new too. Kicker was he had a holster match marked to the gun with it!! It was so new and stiff it actually was hard to get together so we charged him $10 as it took awhile to do plus we were checking numbers too. He did not want to sell the Luger just yet but he has our number and names so who knows and we did ask for first shot at it. He seemed pleased and also had another old German gun with a piece msiing the name of which I can't remember and we looked that over too. Told him where to find the part and the value of it too. He had another old German rifle also and we sold that for him to a dealer that was there because we knew he would like it.
I am still not going to sell this as I really like the look of it so don't bother sending any m notes offline or asking how much I want for it. I am going to try and get the vets name and such next week as I have his number so it will have some backround history to go with it too. No papers as he must have worked in supply or been an officer and no duffle cut either. I am betting this was a depot set of weapons as they had some sort of cosmilne on them and were really in nice shape otherwise. Original sling is suffering from exposure but I have some stuff on it to get it back in better shape, that light checkering that was on them is still quite visible and prominent and like I aid there is a three letter ID on it and I am thinking it was opd or opm. Can't remember just which one right now. Needless to say with the M91 Mosin I traded for and this $400 K98 I am quite please even though I was in the red again for the show. I have never broke even or made money at this show ever but I find things there sometimes so I keep going back! Bill
