Posts: 5 (12/19/09 09:06 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None (I have 3). Here is my latest one; an older Israeli Standard barrel kit. This gun was built on a DSA type I receiver; and came with a flash guard bayonet: I also picked up 14 metric FAL Magazines; 2 Izzys mags in the mix. I also have two other FALS, one a precision FAL using a DSA 21" Bull Barrel and Imbel receiver and a standard Imbel semi-auto FAL made with a "virgin" Century R1 receiver. The last photo is a family grroup photo. I paid $130 for the magazines; 2 are Izzys. I traded a shotgun and 1911 for the Izzy. The rifle is built on a DSA Type 1 (STG58) receiver.

Posts: 2 (12/20/09 08:40 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	very nice, as a FAL junkie myself i love the look of izzy furniture on one. i have 4 FAL rebuilds, 3 are imbel kits on imbel semi-auto recievers and the 4th one is a early STG-58 with FN proofs also rebuilt on a imbel reciever and all have the reqired number of U.S. parts. my favorite shooter is one of the imbels that was downright ugly with broken furniture and about 70% of the finsh missing off it. i replaced the broken handguards and cracked buttstock with furniture from DS arms but didn't touch the missing finish. i call it the truck gun it has had about 3000 rds put through it since rebuild and runs like a champ.

I still have my Israeli HB to build, been thinking of sending it off to have the barrel turned so it will index. The heavy barrel was my first FAL parts purchase and will be my last build. I don't have a correct sling, I've got one of the old U.S. web slings used on the M1 and M14. Mine one of those Century thumbhole jobs that was on a nice Imbel receiver. Borrowed a thread die from someone on the board and put a flash suppressor on it. Also bought a set of Australian wood and british pebble to dress it up in. The only problem I've had has been keeping the pistol grip from moving. Century ground off the stud, so I have the bushing to hold it on. Appears the rest of the metal was british. Right now it has a red dot on it. Howard

Soldier's battle rifle. If it was made for soldiers. "...Century..." Might be a mixture of inch and metric parts too. Century has no concept of what QC means. Spelling and grammar count!

Posts: 2116 (02/01/10 09:20 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Just 1 for me too. Century build on Imbel receiver. Traded an M1 for it and some other stuff 5 years ago. Not having total faith in Century builds I sent it off to Randy Kline to have the barrel threaded and have the timing, headspace, etc checked. The bipod was courtesy of P'Bill. Never did care for the PG angle so I replaced the original with a Tapco SAW grip. Great shooting rifle. It functioned flawlessly twice through the 100+ round in 5 minute tactical stage of Stimpy's FAL match. The third time around Bob was about 80 rounds into it when the bolt hold open failed on his last mag change and unfortunately the Tapco charging handle pin had fallen out so he couldn't finish.
