Well I finally got one. It cost me a pretty penny, but I had to have it and I rarely see one in CA. Anyways it is a 1935 Finnish Sk.Y M28-30 in a M91 Stock. It has the barrel bushing at the front barrel band. The tang is dated 1919. The trigger has the little spring and the hole that serves no purpose. It seems to be pretty original. I think that the handguard is Finnish birch but the type of wood that the stock is, I do not know. The bolt matches the receiver and buttplate which has "55". The floorplate is not matching. The bolt also has a couple numbers lined out which I think is pretty cool. A cool rifle for sure.
I would like to reload for it, but will the unmodified M91 forend of the stock be too weak to shoot? I hope not. Or is it only a problem when you stick someone with the bayonet and TWIST! Just Kidding.
I slugged the bore 4 times and measured between .310" and .311". I thought that this rifle had a bore of .308"?
When I slugged the bore I noticed that about 1/3 the way down from the muzzle I could push the slug with the wooden rod by had and then it would get tight again. The bore looks good maybe a little worn and a little dark but overall good with no pitting. Could my bore be worn to .311"? Any thoughts? Hope you like the pics!
