Posts: 5 Jan 24 07 5:36 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None I'm new to this forum and also to Webley revolvers. I've purchsed a Webley MK VI revovler. The revolver has some play in the cylinder and I thought a new cylinder bolt stop was needed. However when i pull the trigger and thumb the hammer down, the cylinder locks in nice and tight. Is this normal with the webley revolvers?? Any additional info would be helpful JLP

Posts: 414 Jan 25 07 1:59 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	It is normal because, unlike most revolver designs, all of the later double-action Webleys have both a cylinder stop and a cylinder lock - one operates to stop the cylinder in position and the second only engages at the moment of firing (i.e. with trigger pulled and hammer fully back, as you have noted ... or, on some models, not until just before the hammer has fully fallen ... ) If you hold the revolver up sideways in front of you as you perform these actions, looking into the gap between the frame and the bottom of the cylinder, you'll see the cylinder lock rise and engage ... I've found the Webleys very interesting but was lacking on any info or experience with them. Thanks again for the info, I was afraid my pistol was needing some work. Pleased to know this info and not get into some un-needed repair. JLP

There was a war against the native peoples (except Canada where things were pretty quiet), lawlessness, claim disputes and failed military campaigns like the British Army fighting the Zulus. I have watched a few South African and Australian Westerns and Webleys are used most times over the Colt.
