There are only 80 of these a year here in San Diego. I was quite happy about it. The season is about a month after regular season closes, so I will be out there by my lonesome instead of having every Yahoo with a gun running through the woods like Rambo. Complete with 30 round magazines (yes, plural. You never know when you might get attacked by the herd), a sidearm, with extra magazines (it could be a really big herd), and a knife large enough to slaughter elephant (you might run out of ammunition...). It will be nice not having to worry about idiots glassing the other hunters with their scopes either. Now all I have to decide on is whether to use the .45 caliber matchlock, or get one of the $80 muzzle loader set ups for my mossberg. I guess it will depend on how dry it has been in the months before the hunt.
