Posts: 2482 Nov 17 08 7:57 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None I've been "cruising" the auction sites looking for Italian LBE for my Carcano. Don't really need it, just want it to help round out the presentation. I've noticed that while slings, ammo pouches, and bayonet frogs can be found, not much else of the Italian Soldiers LBE seems to be available that's not reproduction (and a tad on the spendy side for me). So, have any of you others noticed this or had a problem? What books, if any, are "the thing to read" regarding an Italian, and maybe even a Japanese soldiers fighting gear? What other LBE (Load Bearing Equipment) are any of you collecting? Anybody into a Re-enacting unit? I've almost assembeled the entire East German set to include a field pack. Posts: 2482 Nov 27 08 3:14 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've noticed that some Italian Carcano ammo pouches have a D-ring sewn into the pouch while others come "sans" D-ring. There is a rivet in the middle between the two pouches, but no d-ring. I've got another on the way and I couldn't tell from the picture if it has the d-ring or not. It does however look like there isn't one. Maybe I'll have to get my local shoe repair guy to "cobble up" a set of d-rings for the two. Or, I could just leave them as they are, 'cause that's the way they came. Don't think I'd like that neck strap anyway! Posts: 2482 Feb 22 09 7:44 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The second ammo pouch I bought did have the "D" ring, so I'm wondering if there is a difference between Infantry and Air Force pouches. I also bought "an original" belt that came with a funky brass "who knows from what" belt buckle. Cost more to return it than it was worth. Now I'm looking for a respectable "repro" belt buckle. Rats. And I did manage to find the entire set of LBE for an East German set-up. I just have to exchange the AK 47 bayonet for an MPi74N bayonet. Anybody have an idea where to find one?
