Czech VZ-52 - Price Check

I was wondering what a fair price would be versus a full retail ($495.00) that this store wanted. The rifles are in good condition. I have not fired them, but the actions work smoothly and the bluing is 75%. Idid not get under the wood. Thanks CurtisS. Posts: 5233 (11/19/08 12:38 PM) Host Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've seen them ranging anywhere from $250 to $500 and in many varying states of condition during the past year. As I'm sure you're aware, the ammo is the issue. If the rifle came with a few hundred rounds, maybe I'd be willing to buy it for, say, $300 but it would have to be really nice and not have that dreaded black truck-liner finish that CAI put on. Without ammo, they are nothing more than curiosities or wall hangers. The ammo, too, is nothing to write home about as it's only fair at best with lots of click-bangs or FTF. No one has stepped up to the plate to reproduce it, either, so don't waste your time looking for it. You can find ammo on the auction sites but be prepared to pay dearly for it; eaily 40-50 cents a pop. I'd only pay the price you've mentioned if the rifle was in superb condition and because I've got a bunch of ammo stored up. Otherwise bargin the owner down to about $250 and you'll spend the rest on ammo. I love that rifle and the VZ52/57 as well. It's just the ammo is a critical issue. The rifles were of the black heavy finish at the action where the rear cover is. The action reminds me of something the egyptian hakim had on it. And the VZ-58. Thanks for the advice. I will consider talking him out of the rifle at a lower price. But I don't have much experience convincing someone who is very confident of his stuff to sell it for less. I will have to learn.
