Previously my bayonets
had to be scattered around a handful of draws, boxes and closet which were hard to get into.
This wire shelf/rack was about $6 at Home Depo. It looks like I can slide in about 50 bayonets on one rack! ... I will need multiple racks.
It takes up about 3 shelfs worth of vertical space in a garage closet. Storage
density will be really high. These bayonets hang by their frog stud. Only a few bayonets in the front have to be remove to get to bayonets in the rear. I
will have to build a wood frame around the edge of the wall and under the front and back of the rack as it is already bowing from the weight of just a few
bayonets.
Should I be worried about corrosion where the painted metal rack touches the bayonet or scabard over long term storage.
Here is a picture with just a few bayonets in the rack:
I would love to hear other ideas on how to accessibly store a large number of bayonets.
