He had been in the army (Australia) during World War 2 and had spent time in Africa. One of his son's was into boats (yachts) and a step grandson raced the formula 1 speed boats. Anyway that's just some background info, and may have bearing on the following items.
The first item is an 8 day clock. The face has faded and I can't pull out the mechanism to see if there are any factory ID codes on it - from lack of knowhow and not wanting to damage it. I wound it up once but not completely because at the time I didn't realise it was an 8 day clock (took a lot of windin though). It works but consistently loses 5minutes per day. It ran for 5 days but will run longer if I wound it up all the way no doubt. The time setting is accessible through the rear.
Anyone know brand and posible history? Some photos below:
Next to 505 Gibbs and the obligatory 45/70:

The next item is a case of some sort. I think it may be Australian since there is an arrow head symbol on the base, and is dated 1941. The opening is about 37mm (about 1 1/2 inch) and is about 9.76 inches overal length. I didn't have any luck with Google. The opening looks like a roll crimp that hasn't opened it. Any ideas?
