Posts: 1 Sep 7 10 6:33 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None First time post, We picked up a Mod 31 this weekend, it has crossed cannons stamped in the stock #605xx, real nice shape it came with an extra barrel, probally 28-30 inch full choke. I just wanted to find out what I could about this shotgun, looks like a good place to find info on it.. Thanks, As Ever, Hoop

Posts: 1187 Sep 7 10 8:56 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Remington made the Model 31 in several versions from 1931 to 1949. There were about 160,000 made. It was a fine gun and was only replaced when the Remington 870 was introduced. It was one of the last of the old solid milled steel "tank" guns that lasted forever. There were a number of versions, many with fancy engraving and wood. There was the 31A standard version with plain barrels and solid or vent rib barrels, the 31B higher grade with better wood and engraving, the 31R "riot", the 31D Tournament with scroll engraving, the 31E "Expert" with scroll engraving and game scenes on the receiver, the 31F Premier with engraving, the 31TC Trap, the 31S Trap Special, the 31H Hunter, the 31L lightweight with an aluminum frame, and the 31 Skeet. The government bought hundreds of thousands of them during WWII as aeriel gunnery training guns, guard guns, and for recreation on military posts.
