for quite a long time. It was his father's rifle. He says it is quite accurate.

The front underside of the barrel has a "P" stamped just in front of the stock.
The top of the front Barrel has these stamps
RA means Remington Arms ? 9-43 means made in September 1943 ? The year I was born....Pisces.

Here are the stampings on the Receiver
That is a "Z" and under it is 4128035 What does the "Z" stand for ?

Left Side of the Stock has RA - symbol - FJA

On the left side just behind the Hand Grip is the Stamp "OG" (Meaning?)
Markings on the bottom of the Stock

What does the "P" stand for ?
What do I now have in my collection ? Value ?
When and where was it manufactured ?
The M1 Garand or the M1942 or the M1905 or M1905E1 Bayonets fit this rifle (I have read).
