Darn good quality Magazine, (not a 'dinky' one like I was expecting). As comparing it to a 1911A1; (other than the sights [which are pretty good]) one difference I noticed was a bevelled mag well...

Posts: 14438 Sep 19 11 8:13 PM Forum Co-Administrator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've not handled the Ruger, but I have a got to look over the Remington, RIA and S&W versions. It appears that a lot of the clone 1911's are looking and performing very well in comparison to the originals. Some are even rivaling the price of Colt products too.

No one wants to be robbed. I'll wait until they are more common and more reviews are able to be checked before laying down my hard earned cash for one. Comparing it to the Remington and I thought this one did not have any "shake" to it when I held it. Plus, that stainless brushed steel with the wood grips and the black hardware....If this gun where a woman I would date it. Shooting it Wednesday. Might post a pic or two.

Posts: 5717 Oct 29 12 8:46 PM Forum Site Moderator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm a huge Ruger fan, too, but just as another consideration, take a look at the 1911s (not A1) being imported from Turkey under the Regent brand. I got one last year at a gun show in Yuma, $400 out the door. So far I've run about 500 rounds of ball and hollow point through it, using the mags that came with it and several old (Army souvenir) .45 mags without a single hiccup, all shooting to point of aim at 21 - 30 feet. Posts: 176 Oct 31 12 3:13 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have had one for about 5 months and beyond a doubt it is the best .45 I own. I have Springfield,Taurus and Llama and he best of all. The Ruger is the most accurate,reliable and smoothest pistol I own. Do not wait and get one,you'll not regret it.

Posts: 4 Oct 31 12 10:09 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Well, I shot it today and I like it. It's my first 1911 so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was still awesome. Love the big push of a 45 ACP. I own a FEG PA-63 in 9x18 and that thing seems to have more recoil then the Ruger. A few notes. 1.I shot about 150 rounds of Winchester white box, 230 grain, 50 rounds of Federal white box 230 gr and 7 rounds of Hornady HP 230 gr +P. 2. I ordered 4 extra, plain jane, GI type magazines and the Ruger did not like one of them. The feed lips seem a bit tight and after the first shot, the next round would not fully seat into the chamber. This is the only issue I ran into regarding FTF. All other magazines worked fine and the gun likes all threee types of ammo. 3. The grips came loose after about 100 rounds. Luckily, the guy at the counter had a star wrench or allen wrench (not sure which one it is) and he tightened them back up for me. Last Edited By: Stonefly2 Oct 31 12 10:15 PM. Edited 1 times.

In the meantime the Taurus PT1911 will have to suffice, but it shoots great!
