I recently bought one of Darrell's 91/30 scope mounts & I really like the sturdiness of both the mount and the installation. So, I finally got around to mounting it to the rifle & all seemed to go well. I used a couple of magnetized spirit levels to get the fore 'n aft level with the barrel & assumed that there would be no problem with the L/R adjustment, since there is none - the mount being pinned to the Mosin rear sight base. Then, I bought a set of 1/8" high Tasco #791DSC rings, as recommended by Darrell and others and an NCstar 2-7x32 L.E.R. (#SPB2732B) scope to go on it. Rounding out the assemblage, I bought an in-chamber 7.62x54 laser bore sighter and a shooting rest.
Now to the problem: With the laser ON and shining brightly on my fencepost at 25 yards, the gun in the rest and the scope mounted securely, I don't have enough windage adjustment on the scope to bring the cross-hairs to the laser point. The elevation adjustment was not a problem - just the windage. Am I missing something? Do something wrong?
