I was looking at Pahtu's recent posting of his M27. I was struck by the fact that, outwardly there was practically no difference between it and my M28(or so I understand it to be). The main thing was that his had a bottom sling swivel on the butt, the bolt wings and groove and a year stamped on the receiver. I wen't to Ted's site and in comparing saw that there was a lot of feature over lap and it could be difficult to say just exactly what one had.
I borrowed a pic of his (no offense taken I hope?!) and mated it to mine for close comparison. I hope that somebody could tell me more about these. One thing I wonder about. Mine does not have a year stamp on it. When was mine built?
My rifle had no number stamped on the butt but, it does have a large "S". One neat thing about mine. It was marked as a 91/30. It was overpriced at that but I didn't squawk at $137 otd!
