M38 Cavalry Carbine Bayonet Spring |
Lead | |
|
I recently picked up an M38 cavalry carbine beater that needed a bayonet spring. With no luck finding a parts diagram for this particular Carcano, I set out to find a spring that might do the job. I found a 3/8" OD spring at the local Ace Hardware that fit perfectly. The one I used had a wire diameter of about 0.035". It was maybe 3/4" long to start and I had to cut some off to get the right tension without stacking too much spring inside the button. It worked pretty well.
Good Luck, Bob |
