It is a 3 shot....but can I possibly ad a 5 hot magazine like this to it??? will it just snap in or will I have to install a lug for the forward attaching tab ? PLEASE HELP ! I know that there are many here who know ! I havent received the Berthier carbine YET...so I cant inspect it....but I would like to know iif this is possible........many Thanks!!!

Posts: 5 Feb 13 12 10:08 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Patrick...yes...its an original 3 rounder....I just like the looks of the mag extension hangin out on the bottom....does that make me a " BUBBA" ? I probably wont install it if it means removing wood.... the Berthier itself is a 92 MD which was also reworked in 1938 and the barrel is stamped as such.....I will post some pics shortly... But thank you for the information !!! All the clip I can find are 5 rounders....with the mag extension I will be able to load all 5 insted of 3.

You can get 3 round reproduction chargers, $15 per charger plus shipping, from Black River Militaria who is the USA distributor of clips and strips from AV Blankfire Pty.Ltd. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. USMC 1959-1963

Posts: 379 Feb 22 12 11:53 AM Host Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The little tabs on the rear of the charger is what holds it in the magazine held by the charger latch and these are of equal distance that allow either the three round or five round chargers can be used in any weapon. Here is an example from a period manual: Nota - Bien que le fusil ait été modifié pour employer un chargeur à cinq cartouches, il peut utiliser les anciens chargeurs à trois cartouches. "Note - although the rifle was modified to use a charger of five cartridges, it can use the former three cartridges chargers. When using 5 round chargers in a three round magazine it sticks out a bit but will not affect operation of the charger at all.
