If you will notice in the serial number survey stickied in this section, you will note that the rifles go from serial number 0013 all the way to the last numbered rifle that I've recorded which is 6493. Within the serial range, I have a representative rifle for each 100 increment except in the 200 and 4800 ranges. All of the other 100 increments have multiple rifles reported. Most documentation that you see on these rifles state that there were 5000 rifles produced for the Colombians....however, as you can see, I have a rifle reported at 0013 and one at 6493. It is my contention that more than 5000 rifles were produced....more like 6500 as my small sampling of 311 rifles indicates. Eventually, I'll fill in some blanks on the other 2 s/n ranges where I have no sample. I also would find it difficult to believe that since what I have goes to 6493+ representations as indicated in the other 100 increments, that the 6500 should be the target number rather than the 5000 that so many use without any documentation.
Thanks,
Ol'Duke
