Hi would just like to know what parts will fit and be the same from one gun to the other? (bolts, floor plates , triggers, stripper clips, etc.)That is Yugo to Yugo or for the 98s.

That's a tall order there being many variations with sub-variations on those. smiley: eek

But, in the main, there are two primary differences. The German standard length action Mauser Mod.98 (sub-genre K98k) and the FN Belgium/Yugoslav Mod.1924 intermediate length action. Simply, The Mod 1924 and related variants are 1/4" shorter than the German Mod.98 actions. That means most action parts and the stocks will not interchange although the extractors will. Likewise magazine parts will need to match actions (I think smiley: eyes

.) I think the magazine followers will swap too though I won't swear to that. The front or H-band bbl. bands will swap though the difference in hand guards prevent the lower bands from swapping. Things like butt plates will swap but will have to match type, i.e., you won't be able to put a cupped butt cap on a stock fitted for a flat but plate (at least not w/out some alteration).
Any 5rd 8mm rim grip stripper clip design will work more or less though some will fit better nor others.

Now here is where it get's tricky. smiley: wink

The Yugoslav models 1924b, started out as Mexican model 1912 and/or the Gew 98 so will be standard length actions. Likewise, the Mod.1924A, Mod. 1924Ч, mod. 24/52Č all stared out as vz23 or 24 (mostly vz24) so will be standard length actions too. Furthermore, the Yugo 98 reworks being reworked mod.98s are standard length actions. But, the mod 24/47 starting out as a mod 1924 are intermediate length actions. The M48 series was derived from the Mod.1924 as well and are all intermediate length actions as well.

As a rule though, you really should match type to type except in the most basic levels. Putting a German extractor on a Yugoslav 24/47 wouldn't be a big deal. The Yugoslavs themselves fixed some that way. But, putting mongrel parts on an M48 wouldn't really be appropriate not putting M48 parts say, on a Mod.1924 wouldn't be correct either. We encourage people to try and keep their weapons in as near as issued condition as possible.

Thank You! That clears up a lot for me. I just got a 24/47 and the numbers do not match. But would like to keep it in the shape that it was made for. Love the rifle. That is what I like about this site. Hope it shoots as good as it looks ? Thank you for all your help.

I've got Turksih ammo on Turkish strippers that don't fit into the grooves on my genuine Yugo rifles (24, 24/47, 48)
