Type 99 Arisaka Vs. Skiss K31

Tighter groups, sights more on target. I was kind of surprised, since the Swiss rifles are known for being accurate. People say I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. If I have so many guns, what do I need to be paranoid about?

Posts: 174 Sep 28 12 5:34 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The K-31's available to the surplus shooter have almost all been well cared for, and are among the most accurate of all mil-surplus bolt guns. Arisakas have much more varied histories, although most bring-back 99s might have seen little use before they were taken as a souvenir of a GI's or sailor's time on occupation duty. What, exactly, were you comparing? A K-31 properly stocked up, with the stock screws at the proper torque, and shooting Swiss GP-11 ammo can commonly produce grouops around 2 MOA over iron sights. The Arisaka 99, given similar quality stocking, bedding, and ammunition (handloads or commericial) should be capable of similar accuracy, but they are not known for such accuracy routinely. I would hazard a guess that 4 MOA is probably closer to their "average" performance. Plenty good enough for its purpose, though (remember, Service Grade Garands aren't expected to be much better than that). What size groups were you getting, and at what range?
