I use what I believe to be a standard headspace gage set by Forster. I checked my K98 "dou" and my Yugo 24/47. With the NO GO gage, neither bolt would begin to close. But when I chamber 8mm factory ammo, surplus ammo or reloads full length sized, they all make closing the bolt requiring more effort than it should. It acts like the headspace is too tight. The same ammo causes no problem in my two Turkish 8mm's or my sporterized Nazi 8mm Mauser.
I am thinking my "dou" mauser and my Yugo 24/47 may have the different shoulder angle and the ammo I have and my 8mm reloading dies are of the other angle causes the more difficult bolt close.
If anyone can help me locate the post about the different 8mm shoulder angles, I sure would appreciate it. I don't know if I should be using a new 8mm Finish Chamber Reamer to correct the shoulder angle or live with the added effort to close the bolts on the two refles. I can shorten a shell holder so the rounds chamber with the bolt closing normally but even this is not what I cal the proper fix of the problem.
